How to roll a joint? Grind the cannabis, create a crutch or filter, fill the rolling paper, roll it, seal it, and pack it (roll and twist the end). How to roll a blunt (yes, it’s different from a joint!)? Grind the cannabis, empty the wrap (or get empty tobacco wraps), wet it, fill it up, roll it and seal it. We’ll go over both of these processes in detail here, so read on to find out more!

How to Roll a Joint?

So, let’s start with joints and how to roll them. First, you’ll need the following:

  • 1.25 rolling paper,
  • your weed,
  • crutch or filter,
  • herb grinder,
  • a pen or a match (to make packing the joint easier).

How to roll joints if you have everything ready?

Grind the Herbs

First, you’ll need to grind your weed. It’ll help you pack your joints more evenly and prevent your hands from getting sticky.

Put the Crutch in the Rolling Paper

If you don’t have a crutch, make it by folding a semi-stiff, thin paper. You can also use a filter, though a crutch is better.

Fill up the Rolling Paper

Now, it’s time to put your goodies into the rolling paper. Typically, you’ll fit in 0,5 to 1g of your herbs.

Roll the Joint

When you’ve filled the rolling paper, it’s time to pay respect to its name and roll it. Pinch the paper with your fingers and roll it back and forth until it reaches its typical shape.

Seal the Joint

Roll in the unglued side, and lick the glued part. Start sticking it to the rest of the joint, beginning from the crutch.

Pack the Joint

Now, you need to finish your joint off by twisting the open end of it. It’ll help it burn evenly.

How to Roll a Blunt?

Now it’s time for the blunts. What do you need to roll them?

  • your herbs,
  • cigar, cigarillo, or blunt wrap,
  • grinder,
  • razor blade (it might help open the cigar or cigarillo, but it isn’t necessary).

With everything ready, how do you roll a blunt?

1. Grind the Herbs

Like in the case of joints, first, you need to grind your weed.

2. Get the Blunt Wrap Ready

Empty the cigar or cigarillo. You can use a razor for it or do this with your fingers if you feel confident enough.

3. Wet Your Wrapper

Get a bit of moisture on the wrapper (but not too much). It’ll cover any small tears if they appear while emptying or rolling. The best way to do this is to dip the tip of your finger in water and put it on the wrapper.

4. Fill the Wrapper

Unlike joints, blunts will typically fit in more herbs – about two grams.

5. Roll the Blunt

Roll the wrapper with cannabis between your fingers. When you get the right shape, tuck the wrap under itself and wet the inside of the outside edge. Make sure to smooth out any wrinkles with your fingers.

6. Seal the Blunt

Finally, it’s time to seal (also called “bake”) the blunt. Run a lighter across the length of your blunt and around it. Don’t keep the fire too close – you want to seal your blunt with the heat, not to start burning it (yet).
